My experience in Somalia is limited, as is the experience of many. Due to the security situation, ongoing hostilities, and inhospitable landscape, Somalia is one of the most inaccessible countries on earth. ‘Postcards from Somalia’ was an idea to capture the Somalia visible to outsiders who are able to venture there.

In Somali society, men’s lives are outdoors, in the streets. Women’s on the other hand, are inside, behind doors and gates, hidden from the world.
